Artist Reflection

How were you feeling prior to joining this course? Were you excited, nervous, all of the above? Why? How has your outlook on this course and art developed throughout the course? What specifically has helped it develop?

Prior to Design and Draw course I was very excited and happy to joining this class because I love art and designing new art work of my own. This course has encouraged me to wanna try more projects of my own using the techniques I have used on all the projects from this class. Some of the projects were a little challenging but each project has challenged me to work hard and push myself as they got harder.

Which project pushed you to grow the most? Explain why. Was it a new media or did you have to start over? What helped you push through and how do you feel about the project now?

I feel like the last project which was the Pattern Design pushed me to grow way more and learn new things. I first had no idea what Adobe Illustrator was and while doing my project I had to learn new things. I also had to start over so many times but I still pushed myself and kept trying. While doing this I was getting frustrated at the beginning and had to start over multiple times, I then figured out the things I was messing up on and fixed them and made them better. After getting help from Ms. Jury to make it way easier she helped a lot and it ended up getting easier to do at the end. After all it turn out pretty cool and looked the way I wanted it. I was very Proud of myself that I didn't give up!

Which project was your favorite? Why was it your favorite? Did you know that would be your favorite when you started or were you surprised? Do you think you’ll continue to use some of the skills from that project in your own art?

My favorite project was the still life project. It was a very fun project to do and it was a project of shoes that actually meant something to me. Michael Jordan is one of my favorite basketball players and to have some shoes named rafter him in my closet and being able to draw them because they meant something to me was really cool. I was not actually expecting this to be my favorite project because I didn't know what other projects were coming up next. Now going on to doing my own projects I believe these skills I did on this project will help and lead on to projects or any other art work of my own I do in the future.
